Today we took an afternoon trip to the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (http://thailandforvisitors.com/north/chiangmai/suthep/index.html)
A very interesting place...and a very sad, dark and godless place. Attached are some pictures from our visit. Am also going to post some video from today...hope you can see the literal "faith" these Northern Thai people have in these golden images. The view of the city below was beautiful and the architecture was something to behold. Mark, our contact here, led us in a short devotional right there on the mountain top. I wish you all could have been there to hear him.
He is a fantastic person and it is hard to believe all the hard work he and his family have put in here over the past 10 years. We are only the second group to ever come to Thailand and see the work he is doing! We are excited about our orientation tomorrow so we can find out what EXACTLY we can do for Mark and team while we are here on the ground in northern Thailand. More tomorrow. We really appreciate the prayers and support from home for us and for Mark. They are a constant source of inspiration and energy for our weary bones.

Glad to know everyone is well & that you all made it safely. Can't wait to hear about the good work you will do there. It was hard going to sleep Monday night knowing all of you were in the air somewhere over the ocean. Love the pictures - very interesting. It looks as if every nook and cranny is filled with a Buddha. The blog is wonderful. What are those yellow things hanging from the little wires? I love you all. My prayers are with you.
